MOTHER CHURCH
The Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli is the main Catholic Church of Bisenti, in the province of Teramo. In Baroque style, inspired by the pointed Romanesque style, it is one of the most important churches in Abruzzo [1]. The current building is an extension of the previous building of the fifteenth century. History The devotion to Santa Maria degli Angeli was introduced in Bisenti by the monks of the ancient Abbey of San Salvatore. According to legend, a beautiful statue of the Madonna appeared on the banks of the river Fino, surrounded by vivid splendor. The people of the village brought it in a magnificent procession and led it to the church then consecrated to her.
